About Santorini

The most beautiful island of Greece, Santorini is world famous for the impressive caldera and the romantic sunset. Located in the southern side of the Aegean Sea, Santorini took its present crescent shape after the severe earthquake that hit the island at about 1,650 B.C. The lava of this earthquake covered the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri in Santorini and the tsunami waves destroyed the Minoan settlement of Knossos in northern Crete.

Today, Santorini is among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It amazes visitors at first sight with the traditional villages on top of the caldera, the gorgeous view to the Aegean Sea, the still active volcano and the romantic sunset in Oia. The perfect destination for all ages, Santorini can be accessed by plane and ferry from Athens or by charter flight from abroad.
